End of Winter

Well, we are nearing the end of our time here in Florida!  I am sad to be leaving the beautiful weather we have had here but happy to be heading home to Maine.  I wanted to show you a few projects I have been working on the last couple of weeks.  That's in between going to the beach, playing golf and going to a few fun festivals!   The picture above and below is a Card in a Box.  I used the flower and bee dies from Karen Burniston's Flower Pot Pop Up dies.  I love that little bee!!  The paper is from Graphic 45's Sun Kissed collection.  I only bought a few of the papers but I will need to get more.

None of these cards have any sentiments on them since I don't have a printer here and most of my sentiment stamps are at home.  But I can add them once I get back.

This card is going to be a Thank you card!  I used Spellbinders Damask Graceful border dies from Becca Feeken's collection.  Love her stuff!!  The flowers are from Stampin Up but the bee is from Karen Burniston again.

I love Becca's new 3D Grand Arched dies! I am playing around with these dies and having some fun!I have even seen some cute mini albums made with these dies.  Below, I made a little Christmas scene for the inside of this card.  It will still fold to close.

And lastly, I made this Christmas shaker card.  The die is from Spellbinder's Snowflake Snippets collection.   I followed Yana's video directions and she made it so easy to make!  You can see her directions at the link below-

I will add my sentiment when I get home... plenty of time before Christmas!

As I said, I am sad to be leaving but happy to be going home!

Frames/Shadow Boxes

Hi all- Just a quick post to show you what I have been working on here in Florida.  I love making these frames or Shadow boxes depending on how you want to use them. The above picture shows the flowers from Karen Burniston's Flower Pot Pop Up dies.    I started out using the tutorial on the link below.  But I didn't always have success when making my frames.  The instructions are great so I don't know where I would go wrong.   Check it out-

The frame above is an example of a boo boo.  The upper right hand corner didn't come together as tightly as I like.  But I loved the paper so I did end up decorating it anyway.  I used Heartfelt Creations lovely fuschia die to add the flowers.

I also used Heartfelt Creations flower die to add the flowers to the above frame.  The picture below shows a die from Spellbinders.  Love the little bunny playing peek a boo!

I haven't decorated this frame as yet.  I added a little lace from a Stampin Up die.  I am still trying to decide what to use on this frame.

I decided to give in and buy Elizabeth Craft Designs Happy Frame XL.  You can see it in the picture below.  I have great results in making frames with this die.  The first picture at the top of this post is made with this die.  You can make all sizes too!    Elizabeth Crafts also sells a die that has a thinner front and will fit inside of the Happy XL.  I may get that too!    You can add pictures to these frames or a quote that might be special to you.  Since I don't have a printer here ... I will add something to these frames when I get home.   You could use them as Shadow Boxes too.   I hope everyone has a fabulous day!

Pop Up Flower Card

I have just purchased Karen Burniston's Flower Pot Pop Up dies!  I already owned her Twisted Panel Pop Up dies so I decided to give a card from her blog a try!  It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be!  Of course, her great instructions helped a lot!

I love how the flowers really Pop up when you open the card.  I am in Florida and didn't bring all my Tim Holtz ink pads but I was able to recreate the look of a flower pot with my Vintage Photo and Wild Honey.  I added some of the Rusty Hinge ink and some green ink as well.   You can see a picture of the dies I used below.

Here's a link to Karen's instructions!  She made it so easy to make this card!

I can't finish the card until I am home again since we don't have a printer here.  Just as well since I don't know what I want to use for a sentiment.  But now I have a card ready for when I need a great birthday card!  I think I will add something to the front as well.

I was going to add a few pictures of Florida but my computer is acting mean today.  I may add some later.  Have a great day!
