Retirement Fairy!

I am still lovin' my new AI Fairy Stamp!  I had to show you another card I made for a co-worker who is retiring this month after 37 years!  Imagine!  The front of the card says it all!  Even though we don't work in the same office,  I will miss being able to call her and tap her expansive knowledge when I get in a bind.  She has a great sense of humor too!  One thing I have learned in this life- you better be able to laugh!!

Here is the inside of the card!  The Retirement Fairy is suspended in the "tunnel" of the card.  I picked the sentiment off the internet.  All them are so true!

Hehehehe!!  I think this Fairy is a hoot!  I don't think you can tell but I did use glitter on her wings and her wand.  What's a Fairy without glitter!

Secret Garden Pop Up Card

I was inspired by Einat Kessler 's beautiful Pop Up Book using Graphic 45 Paper.  You can see her book here along with a tutorial to show you how she made hers-

Elinat's is gorgeous!  Mine is a poor attempt to imitate a Master!  But I didn't make a book! I was content to try my hand at a card!

Here are a few more pictures.  I found it hard to get good pictures so I did a quick video that you see above.  I thought it was easier to show you how it opened.

Birthday Fairy!

I have been working on a Birthday day for no one in particular.  My Sisters and I went to the Creative Keepsakes Convention in Manchester, NH this past weekend and I bought a new Stamp and the dies!  I love AI's spinning stamps!  This Birthday Fairy is my favorite!   I found the sentiment on line and I think it is a hoot ... and very true!

Can you read it?

Watch out for the Birthday Fairy!
Every time she visits she brings
one of her friends along...
Wrinkle Fairy, Gray Hair Fairy,
Bad Back Fairy, Big Butt Fairy
and Bad Eyesight Fairy!

Man, I wish that Fairy didn't have so many friends!!  I haven't posted in awhile. Believe it or not, I am working on Christmas projects!!  Really!!  I am not going to be last minute this year.  It's the ideas that take me a while to work out.  No!  Not this year!   We had 4 inches of snow this week!  This has got to be the latest that has happened but it helped put me in a Christmas mood!!

Anyway, here is a picture of the stamp set I used!   The picture I took of the back came out too blurry but I love the fact that you have both the front and the back!!   I love her!!!  I might try another card with her!  Have fun!

UPDATE:

After posting this card-  I thought it needed more embellishment!  I couldn't resist adding some ribbons!  Now it is really over the top-!

Here is a shot of the back- this is where I will add some white card stock in order to sign the card!  I love that this stamp has a front and back!

The final picture shows the card when it is closed.  It will be easy to make an envelope in order to mail it!  Hope you enjoyed this card- I do get a chuckle when I look at it!!

Happy Easter!

We are back from Disney and my vacation is just about over!  Florida was fabulous again this year.  We did have one day of rain and just one day of colder than expected weather but the rest of the week was perfect weather!  We can't complain at all.   I have been working in my craft room for a couple of days now and just love working on baskets for Easter.  The above photo is a Bunny Easter box without candy added.  I was inspired by Linda Parker's tutorial that I found on Pinterest.  Check out her tutorial here-

The picture below shows the Bunny with candy in the box.  It holds just enough goodies for our small Grandson!!

The Easter baskets I made below are a Picnic Hamper styled Easter basket.  I love making these cuties.  The box part of the basket is the same idea as the Bunny Basket above.  They are made using the Envelope Punch board.  The hamper style basket it a little bigger.   Again, Linda Parker does a fabulous tutorial showing you  how to make these-

I did decorate mine a little differently from Linda's since I wanted to add more 3D flowers to my baskets.   But however you decorate them- they are fun to make.  They hold a good amount of yummies too.

Here are a few close ups of the baskets. I played around with different colors and different flowers.  Fun, Fun!!

Hope everyone has a very Happy Easter!  I must leave you with at least one picture from our Disney Trip.   I only took a couple of hundred pictures but the castle fireworks are always a favorite!!

By the Sea Tunnel Card

I have been busy doing different projects!  I thought I would show you a couple of things I have been working on.  The above card is a Tunnel Book!  It is really a Tunnel Card, at least that is how I look at it.  I found the instructions on Pinterest.  If you search Pinterest with Tunnel Card you will find a completely different type of card - so I searched Tunnel Book and was inspired by the following-

http://www.teachkidsart.net/tunnel-books/

The post above gives you an idea how to make a Tunnel "Card" or "Book".  Of course, I love Graphic 45's By the Sea Collection!  This is a going away card for a friend.  It gives the collection a 3D look!  Can you see the depth in the picture below?

Here is a shot during the construction of the card.  I am working on one now that does not use cardstock frames but uses acrylic rectangles that you adhere to the accordion sides.  When I complete it - I will post a picture.

Here is a shot of the back of the card and the sentiment I used.

The card below is a Thank You card  that we needed at the office.  We wanted to thank a local chef and the restaurant owner for bringing us some yummy desserts this month!  I used a cloud die to make the chef's hat and I actually have a moustache die that I love using!

The picture below is the inside of the card and the sentiment that I used.  Do you like chocolate chip cookies?   This card makes me want to eat one!

I am on vacation for 2 weeks!  We are doing some traveling but I am going to love spending more time in my craft room!  I am actually playing around with some ideas for Christmas Cards.   I know it's early but I am determined to at least have an idea of what I want to make for Christmas instead of trying to think of something at the last minute.  What I really should do is to start my Christmas shopping!  But it really does seem early for that.  Do you believe Spring is here!  I plan to get out and enjoy - you should too !

Valentine Matchbook Treat Holders

I found the tutorial to make these cute Matchbook Treat Holders on Pinterest!  I couldn't believe how easy they are to make!  You can find the tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers as well.   Check out Arlene's video for Graphic 45.  She does a great tutorial!

https://www.pinterest.com/pin/48835977187929950/

I used a combination of Graphic 45 paper and Stampin Up paper.  I also used Stampin Up brads to decorate my matchbooks.   The Ghirardelli candy square fits perfectly in the holder!

I love, love Graphic 45's Mon Amour paper!  It has such a beautiful Victorian look. The pictures of the ladies on the matchbooks are from the Mon Amour paper collection from Graphic 45.    The pictures above and below are a close ups of the matchbooks.

These matchbooks were fun to make! Valentine Day is over- on to the next holiday - Easter!

Valentine Baskets!

I made a few more Valentine's Day baskets for my staff!  If you saw my previous post, you saw that these baskets are made from Stampin Up's Fry box die.  They have 3 compartments to put candy or small gifts in!  I love finding different ways to decorate these baskets.

I love the colors of the basket and the card above! Pinks and Cream! I used Marianne Designs die to decorate this basket.  The decorative paper is also from Stampin Up.  I did use Graphic 45 paper on some of the baskets.  The card was made using a Spellbinder's die called Regal Frame.  I just got this die and I love it!  I used both the positive and negative of this die.  It really  gave it an inlaid effect.

You can't tell from this picture but I also decorated the handles. Each handle is a little different on each basket.  I couldn't resist putting bows on some of the baskets!

I think this basket has more drama!  I used darker colored paper to make it a little more masculine.

The card above is a close up of my Valentine Card for this year!  You can't tell from this picture but I used Wink of Stella to add a little glitter to the card.  I got the Wink of Stella pen from Stampin Up too.
I have a few days off from work- Yipee!  More time to play in my craft room! Oh... and do some cooking and cleaning too.  Happy Valentine's Day!
