Where did the summer go? I have our fireplace on today to warm up the house. I can't bring myself to turn on the furnace. One day we are sweating in the humidity and the next I have a heavy sweater on!! I do love Fall but just wish it would stay a tad warmer - at least in September!!
My brother and his wife celebrated 40 years of marriage this month- my twin sister and her hubby celebrated 13 years this month! I decided to make a nautical card for both of them. The cards were made from 49th and Market beautiful paper- I think it's called Sea and Sand...or something like that. I love their paper! The sand dollar was something I had in my stash. But the lighthouses and sea horse are cut from their fabulous paper! I know I have seen several similar cards on Pinterest and was inspired to try and make one of my own.
For the back of both cards, I used an old outdated Maine Atlas. The base of the card is made from Spellbinders Grand Dome card by Becca Feeken. I love using this as a diorama card. My seagull is from Sizziz.
I used a very simple sentiment for both cards! These cards flatten and fit easily in an envelope to be mailed!
I feel like I have neglected my blog lately! I have been busy getting ready for a Craft Show we will be doing the first week of November at the Italian Heritage Center in Portland. I am concentrating on making these mini coffee totes for Thanksgiving. The acorns on the top are ones I picked from last year. I let them dry out and sprayed them with poly.
The leaves are from Tim Holtz's Tattered Leaves dies.
I will be making Christmas Mini Coffee totes too! I will have pictures the next time I post.
I need to get cracking and make more Christmas cards not to mention my own Christmas cards. So much to do and so little time... or so it seems. Hope everyone had a fabulous summer! I know I did!
