Welcome baby cards

I have been asked to make a couple of Baby shower cards for a co-worker.  I made the Side Stair card as a dresser previously but this time a made it with a crib!  I used Tim Holtz's Caged bird die for the baby's crib.  Even the mobile was made from the top of the bird cage.  You can find the directions to Jackie's Side Stair card  here:  http://jackietopa.typepad.com/addicted_to_stamping/2010/07/side-step-dresser-tutorial.html
I wanted to make the baby carriage the entire card not have the carriage sit on a card. I love that the card can stand on its own.  I folded my card stock in half and then used the largest Spellbinder's circle die to cut but made sure on small edge was inside the die so the card would still fold.  Then you cut a wedge out of the circle to create the carriage.  The wheels are also made from Spellbinder's circle dies.  I really had fun decorating the carriage.  The little face peaking out is from Sizzix's sizzlets as is the bear and bottle on the Stair card.   You can click on the picture to make it bigger.

I made another Baby Carriage that was just a tad bigger than the original.  I also added a little more ribbon to it.  My Spellbinder's Snowflake die just arrived in the mail- the center of the snowflake was perfect for the spokes of the wheels on the carriage.
The larger carriage gives  you more room inside to use your sentiment!

  2. Both of these are fabulous! I admire your ability to see different things in what is there; e.g. cage/crib, circle/carriage. It takes an imagination that I don't have but I recognize talent when I see it - and you have it! TFS
