Slide n' Glide!

I was inspired by the PopnRock cards that I saw on Pinterest!  These cards are fun since they do collapse so they can be mailed and they have movement!  The Popnrock cards have more movable parts than mine but this is my first one!  The children are from Graphic 45's - By the Sea paper.  I used several Sizzix dies along with a Memory Box die for the cloud. I made the Lighthouse myself.

The back of the card has lots of space to add your sentiment!  The lobster is another Memory Box die.  Check out the video below to see how this card rocks!

These cards are not hard to make!  Below is a picture of the base of the card. I drew an oval shape in the size of the card I wanted.  I cut 2 strips out for the inserts but only used one.  The Pop N rock cards had two but my card is much simpler.  You can fold the card in half and use your Xacto knife to cut thru both sides at once to make sure they meet correctly.  I hand cut away the segment on the right side.

Thisis what it looks like when you open it.  If there is any interest- I may do a tutorial.  I have a few more ideas for this type of card.  Let me know!

  12. I would love to see a tutorial on this...my great-grands would love receiving a card like this. I like the action of the sailboat, too, when the card is rocked. Amazing! I've come to believe there's nothing that cannot be made with paper, but it takes a lot of talent to figure out just how! This is darling and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your ideas - you always have such great cards!
