Slide n' Glide!

I was inspired by the PopnRock cards that I saw on Pinterest!  These cards are fun since they do collapse so they can be mailed and they have movement!  The Popnrock cards have more movable parts than mine but this is my first one!  The children are from Graphic 45's - By the Sea paper.  I used several Sizzix dies along with a Memory Box die for the cloud. I made the Lighthouse myself.

The back of the card has lots of space to add your sentiment!  The lobster is another Memory Box die.  Check out the video below to see how this card rocks!

These cards are not hard to make!  Below is a picture of the base of the card. I drew an oval shape in the size of the card I wanted.  I cut 2 strips out for the inserts but only used one.  The Pop N rock cards had two but my card is much simpler.  You can fold the card in half and use your Xacto knife to cut thru both sides at once to make sure they meet correctly.  I hand cut away the segment on the right side.

Thisis what it looks like when you open it.  If there is any interest- I may do a tutorial.  I have a few more ideas for this type of card.  Let me know!

Beautiful Music Together!

I am playing around with some ideas for Wedding cards! I have several weddings to go to this summer and will need to have some cards ready.  I was inspired by my sister, Rochelle, to make this card.  I think her card is so adorable! I did enlarge my card just a bit.    Check out her version of the longer Card in a Box Piano card-

Here is another picture of my Piano Card in a Box. I just purchased Memory Box's Piano Key die.  I had to cut it down just a bit to fit my card but I love how easy it is to use!   I also used some Graphic 45 paper that has musical notes on it for the background.

Back of card

Well, as usual, I went nuts in adding some embellishments that went over the top of the card.  I had to make an envelope for the card to fit in.  It is fashioned after the coin envelop type of card- just much BIGGER....  Luckily, it all fits in!

I forgot to add that I am on vacation this week!  My sisters, Connie, Rochelle and I  spent the night at our friend, Cindy's camp in Limington!  What fun!  We spent time on the beach talking until the sun set.  It was beautiful!  I thought I would share a couple of pictures.  The last picture is Cindy's dinner at Bay Haven in Cornish.  This seems to be the month for lobster!

By the Sea Lighthouse

June is finally here!  I am hoping that means long, sunny, warm days!  I purchased Tim Holtz's Luminary die recently and couldn't wait to play with it!  The By the Sea paper by Graphic 45 is fabulous for these projects!   My daughter's birthday is coming up and I needed to make a card for her special day.  I was inspired by the many cards I saw on Pinterest that used the By the Sea paper.  Here is one I really loved-

My daughter lives on the island of North Haven just off of Rockland.  I visited there recently on a beautiful sunny day!  My last post had a couple of pictures of the view as you arrive by ferry.   The lobster inside the card is a die from Memory Box.

Inside Sentiment

I love Tim's Luminary die!  I added the tea light to the top but you can really put anything inside this luminary.   There are a lot of creative ideas on  Pinterest!  I saw this die used for Halloween and Christmas!  Very cool!

I loved getting out all my nautical dies to use for this project!  I still have space to add a sentiment if I want to use it to give to someone for a birthday!  The top comes off and I can fill the box with yummies as a gift too!

I wanted to share a picture of the lobster roll we had recently at our new favorite restaurant, Bay Haven in Cornish, Maine.  They are about an hour from where we live but worth the drive.   Their lobster rolls are fabulous!  My brother-in-law laughs when we take pictures of our food but this was a show stopper!  Look at all the lobsta!

I had the Lobster Melt!  Ton of lobster in that sandwich too!  The bread is dipped in butter and Parmesan Cheese and then put on the griddle.  It is fabulous!

The weather has finally improved here!  I am looking forward to a vacation in a couple of weeks!  I hope I get to spend more time in my craft room!  Happy June to everyone!
