Haunted Bridge Card

I am wearing sweat pants and a sweat shirt on my morning walks now.  It 's too cold to wear my shorts!  Boo Hoo...  I know that signals the end of summer so now my mind has moved on to Halloween cards.  The card above is ...yes... another U Fold Box card or Bridge card!  I think it's a U Fold card if you use the "shelf" and maybe a Bridge card when you don't use the shelf?? Anyway, that is how I am going to tag it.

You can see in the photo above that it is more like a Card in a Box with wings!  I love making this little Halloween scene.  I use these dies each year for my Halloween cards.  The gate is from Spellbinders.   The bats are from Karen Burniston's   Bat die- the big Bat is below.  The rest are Sizzix dies.

I am making one more Halloween card since I have 2 Grandson's but haven't quite finished it as yet.  I still have plenty of time to make it!  Will post it once it's completed.

Here is the picture that shows it in the closed position.  I love that I can still
mail this card if I want to- it usually costs more but worth it!

Last weekend we went to our Community park with Emily and Rob and Everett (grandson) and watched the Blue Angels fly overhead.  What fun and boy are they LOUD!  I didn't get great pictures since they fly FAST and my heart was beating FAST!  I caught a few that you can see below.   It was really awesome!  Hope they come again next year!

Bubbles, Bubbles everywhere!

I needed a card to send to my niece to celebrate the news that she is going to have a baby!  A new baby in the family who will be due sometime in January!! We will be going to another Gender Reveal party in September!  Can't wait to find out what she is having!!   My nephew is having a little girl soon , too -  due the end of August.   It is fun to welcome all these new babies into the family!!

Yes, this is another U Fold Box card.  I did see some of them on Pinterest where they were calling them Bridge Cards.  Either way, I do love making them!  It is my addictive personality that keeps me making this type of card.  I am working on a Halloween card and it is also a U Fold Box card.  I just keep coming up with the ideas for this card in my head.... I have to try them out!!!

For this one, I did not use the flap that goes in the middle that makes the "shelf".  I left if open, sort of like a card in a box, so I could add some bubbles.  The rest of the card is the same - I do cut mine to be 5 inches tall. It still collapses in order to mail it.

I used a lot of my Sizzix dies for the baby things - bottle, pacifier and rubber ducky and the little baby.  The bath tub and sink I cut freehand.  I do love the sentiment I found on the internet.  There is plenty of room to add it to the back of my card.

Hubby mailed the card for me this morning and I don't think my  niece looks at my blog- so I think I am good to post these pictures.  It has been a little humid here ( I hate humidity) but supposed to be cooler later today.  I need to do some yard work and have been putting it off... I will end this post with a picture of my Cone Flowers along the side my front porch.  I feel like this is the last of summer.  I do love fall but hate to say good bye to summer.  Ah, well....  Enjoy your day!

Bowling Birthday

My husband turned 65 this month!  We are celebrating his birthday with family tonight.  At the beginning of summer, we decided to take up bowling.  Mostly, because our kids took us at the holidays and we realized we really stunk at it since our Grandsons beat us !!!  So we decided we should take it up and practice so we could beat them!  We are having so much fun and we are a little better at it but I still don't think we are ready to beat anybody!

My sister and her husband come with us and that makes it fun too!  We even bought bowling shoes!  Hubby wants to buy his own ball but we haven't done that yet.   I did see one that had glitter in it!  How cool is that?!!

I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest.  But when I went to go link it so you could see hers too-  it is no where to be found.  If I can find it- I will be sure to give them credit!!

Can you believe it is almost September already?!  Today we went to Brunswick Maine's sidewalk Art Festival.  We try to go every year and this year is really felt bigger.  It has taken over the whole downtown.

Tom loved the hand carved fish!  This guy is really an artist - they looked so real!

I love looking at all the art work.  Really humbles you to see so many creative people.  The woman below was just painting out side of her tent.  Me..if I could paint.... I have to think it over ...mull over colors.... and then it would take me all day to even put on one brush stroke.   I loved this woman's creative energy!

This is her work below...

This gentleman was carving right inside his tent.  Everything was beautiful!

The tents below are only one side of the street.  Thank goodness it did not rain while we were there.  It even felt like it might clear and be sunny!

There were several groups of musicians on both sides of the street.  It really makes the event festive to have music playing.  This group had a sort of Irish sound.   We saw a lot of creative people and their work.   I am feeling inspired to go work in my craft room.  Have a fabulous day!

Beach Hut Birthday

I have made another U Fold Box Card for my sister's birthday!  I can't seem to get enough of these fun cards!  I love anything that has to do with the beach / ocean so this card was easy to make.  I was inspired by some of the beach huts I saw on Pinterest.

The roof was interesting to make since it required putting it together before I added it to the card.  It's supposed to be like the roof of a porch.  The card can still close for mailing.  You lift the seat and collapse the card and it can be mailed in a 5 1/2 x 8 inch envelope that I made with my Envelope punch board.

My Beach Hut has windows in it too- which you can see from the back.  You have plenty of room for your sentiment - with a few buoys sprinkled here and there.

Here is a better view of the roof.  I hope my sister likes the beach theme!

It has been busy around here!  Our Grandson, Ezra, came to visit from the island.  We took him to the Topsham Fair and the next day we went to Old Orchard beach and played Mini Golf.  We really did have fun!  Here are a few pictures of the last few days.  Ezra has gone home but I am still resting up from all that fun!

Cupcake Throne Birthday

Just a quick post to show you that I have been working in my craft room.  The weather has been so nice it's hard to stay inside!!  I made this Cupcake Throne for a former co-worker's birthday.  I have made these before but I love how cute they are and how easy they are to make!

The back gives you plenty of space to add your sentiment.  There are several tutorials on Pinterest- here is one that you could use to make your box.

The picture above shows the throne with a cupcake in it!  Very regal!  I used Stampin Up's Birthday Blasts die to make the back.  I love those balloons!  I am working feverishly in my Craft room since August seems to be full of family birthday's!  I will post some more photos soon!   Enjoy August - this month is flying by- It will be September before you know it!!

Piano U Fold Box Birthday Card

I am working in my Craft room today!  It's cloudy and rainy and a great day to stay inside and play!  In my last post, I had made a U Fold Box Card into a kitchen theme for my sister's birthday.    I was trying to come up with more ideas for this fun card and a Piano popped into my head.  I made this card with no one in particular in mind so I haven't added a sentiment but it will be ready when I need it!

I used several dies to make this card.  The windows were made with a Memory Box die along with the Piano keys ( I cut them down a bit).  The back of the piano is made with a Tim Holtz die ( cut down a bit).  I used an Impression Obsession die for the cats!  The flowers in the windows are from Stampin up- the new Bike Ride Stamps/Dies.  The Greenery in the pots are from Memory Box too!

This technique is fun because it has a 3 D look to the card.  Once you push the piano keys down - it locks the card in place!

I love the fact that it will collapse and can be mailed to someone!  You just have to lift up the piano keys and flatten it.

I haven't completed the back but there is plenty of room to add your sentiment and more decorations!  I think I will let the cats travel to the back too!  If you want to go to the link with the tutorial- check out my last post.

The only change I made to my card is the height.  I made my card 5 inches tall just to get more room for the Happy Birthday and the windows.   I am working on another  U Fold Box card and will share it once it is finished.  Happy Crafting!

U Fold Box Birthday Card

Our youngest sister's birthday is this weekend! I have been looking for a different type of card to make for her and came across a tutorial for the U- Fold Box Card on Pinterest!  I just love it!   I was able to use my stamps/dies from My Favorite Things-Recipe for Happiness.  That would be the Chef along with some of the utensils.  I also used the stamps from Lawn Fawn- Sprinkled with Joy-  the oven along with some jars.

I did make the oven larger by cutting the oven and mounting it on white cardstock.  The stove I made using some paper clips I had and adhering them with Crystal Effects.  Oh, I made the Chef taller by cutting longer legs for  him....

Check out Tammy's great tutorial!  I love how she made this into a tool bench and dressing table!  So cute!

The card box does lie flat as you can see from the picture below.  The recipient just has to push the stove top down to form the oven.

Lastly,  here are a couple of pictures of the back of the card.  Plenty of room to decorate.  I used some stickers I had in my stash to finish off the card.  I think I may make another one but I am trying to think what else I could do for a scene.   Hmmm..... barbeque?

Hope your day is fun!
