Happy Birthday Sister!

Yesterday was my youngest sister, Adrianne's birthday!  I love my new Sizzix Pop N Cut die so I had to use it for her card.  The sitting Tilda fit perfectly into the card and she kinda reminds me of Adrianne when she was little. I used Memory Box dies to create the window scene behind Tilda.

Here is a picture of the front of the card.  It is a reverse of a standard card since I put the sentiment on the front of the card not inside.  I have used this sentiment before because I love it so much!  It really is true-words to live by!

Happy Birthday, Adrianne!

Hot, hot, hot Summer!

It has been hot....really hot here in Maine!  Sounds like it is the same all over the country.  Yikes!  I have my studio in my cellar and it is still hot even there!
I have been working on the Pocket Page Mini Album from My Sisters Scrapper.  Ginger is doing video tutorials over on her blog- you have to check it out!  There are a total of 5 videos that Ginger has posted.  I love her instructions- they are really easy to follow!

Once I have finished this album - I will share it with you!

Our Grandson, Ezra, came to visit last weekend!  I took him back to his parents early on Sunday morning so he could ride back home to his island ( as he calls it) with his parents.  It was early but it was still hot.  I thought I would share some of the pictures I took of the Marina in Rockland.  It was a beautiful day!

Getting ready to take off!

It was a beautiful day!

See you soon!

Gurnet Trading Company

My husband and I found this great place to eat in Gurnet!   We love the rustic look of this restaurant- our kinda place!  It is not far from Cook's Corner, Brunswick.   I can't believe we have never been there before!   You can check out their website to see their menu-

http://www.gurnettrading.com/index.html

We find the best food tend to be in places that look like, well, that they wouldn't have the best food.  We went out with my sister and her husband and really enjoyed the whole experience - from the food to the atmosphere!  It is right beside the road and does not have tons of parking.  But you can eat inside or outside- there are picnic tables where you can eat beside the water.

I love they way they let you know your meal is ready!  These cute little lobsters light up when the food is done!

The inside is just as rustic as the outside!  This is the lobster tank!  Nice decorations!

And of course, the usual tourist stuff!

I should have taken pictures of the food!   But we were so hungry when it came- I forgot!  All in all- it was a great experience!  Since we were there during the week - it wasn't quite as busy!  Next time we will eat at the picnic tables but we were worried about the weather.  It has cooled off a little but now we have rain!  Oh, well, good weather is just around the corner.... I hope...

I even loved their sign!

Rustic decorations!  Love it!

Sizzix Pop N Cut Garden Chair

I love the Pop N Cut die by Sizzix!  I used the Chair insert to make my Garden chair above.  I trimmed down the arms of the chair and used my Spellbinder's small rectangle die to open the back of the chair.  I recently purchase the Trellis die from Cheery Lynn Designs.  That is what I used to make the back of the chair.  I wanted to find another use for the chair but I do love the chair used in a living room.  Very cool!  The papers I used are from Graphic 45- mostly The Secret Garden collection!
Here are a few more pictures-

It is soooo hot here! We have had several days of hot weather and more to come!  I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July!  Here are a few shots of what my family did over the 4th.  Hope you can stay cool too!!

Anniversary 3D Paper Piecing Card

Look like us!

Today is my 20th Wedding Anniversary! It is hard to believe we have been together that long!  How time flies! I bought this stamp with our anniversary in mind.  My husband, Tom loves golf!  I also play but not as much as he does!  I hope to play more after I retire.  I imagine this is what we will look like in just a few short years!   I used the 3D paper piecing that Mariksa does on her blog, Sending you a little Smile.

Here is a link to her blog and her wonderful cards! She has also done a tutorial over at Splitcoast Stampers.

Up close!

I love how my card turned out.  I still need to practice this technique!  Don't look too close or you will see my boo boos.  It is fun to see it come together as you glue the pieces on.  I used the syringe that Mariksa uses since there can be very small pieces to glue on.  I think I may have pressed down just a little too much but I love it anyway!   The sentiment is on the back of the card.  It is hard to take pictures to show the effect- here is a little closer view.

I just realized I don't have any Wedding pictures on line!  I will have to scan some pictures of that day!  We had a quiet wedding in a church with a couple of friends standing up for us.  Later we had a back yard celebration and invited family and friends.  I will search for those pictures and share them with you.  Tonight we are going to dinner with family but today I will just relish the memories of the last 20 years!
