Christmas 2021

I have been busy getting ready for Christmas and working on some home decor items! The above picture is an old steamer basket that I took apart and fashioned into a Christmas tree!! I plan to spray paint it white and add a ribbon. I am not sure what I am going to attach it to but will update you with a picture when it's completed.

I used Dollar Tree wine glasses to make this candlestick.  We went to the beach and collected shells for the base. The candle is from Dollar Tree too!!

I did make a birthday card for our son in law this month too!! Masculine cards are tough for me but this truck seem to work well!!

Finally, I wanted to brighten our patio just a bit. So we painted it a light gray! Next, I am going to stencil a rug for it! I will post pictures once I have finished it!

I wanted to make sure I got the chance to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!!

Craft Fair

I love making this embroidery hoop wreath! My hubby attaches it to a base and then I have fun decorating it! I used Tim Holtz lights all around it!!  My sister's and I are busy getting for a Holiday Craft Fair for November 6th!  I am excited to see how busy the fair will be.  It's at the Italian Heritage Center in Portland- they have a lot of vendors and they also sell some great pastries during the event.

This lighted Nativity Star is from 3D Cuts! I purchased an SVG from 3Dcuts  and it comes with a great tutorial! I have made 4 of these in different colors.

This candlestick holder is made from a wine glass turned upside down.  I added a pretty glass vase on top to hold a tea light.  You can put anything you want in the base of the glass.

Here are a few more Wine Glass Candlesticks.  It is fun coming up with
ideas to fill the base of the glass.

The picture above has a pine cone and some greenery with berries in the base.  I am planning
on selling these at the craft fair tomorrow but if they don't sell ...those are coming home with me
to use for the holidays.

My last picture depicts the Nutcracker Suite story.  The base is made from train tracks that I attached
wooden half circles to the tracks.  I spray painted the whole thing white.  I love how it turned out.
We have the craft fair tomorrow and I will be packing for our trip to Florida!!  I am excited for
this new adventure!!  It takes us about 3 days to drive to North Port but I love the stops we make along
the way.   My next post will be coming from sunny Florida!!  Take care!!

Home Decor items

I have been working on Home Decor items this month! My sisters and I are going to have a booth at the Italian Heritage craft fair in November!  Time to think of Christmas projects!

I should mention that I got the Lighted Angel in the picture above from
Special Heart Studio!  It was a free SVG and Gjoa has instructions too! You can check it out here-

The lantern above was purchased at a yard sale. I removed the glass and painted it red! Just added some greenery to it and done!!

I have had this bird cage forever! I painted it black and added some candles and greenery. You can't tell but I have fairy lights in it too!

This was a wooden plate I bought at Goodwill. I painted this black and used my Cricut to cut out the saying in Vinyl.  I love how it came out!!

I saw this idea on Pinterest.  Embroidery hoops were used to make wedding centerpieces.  Why not use them for Christmas! My hubby screwed the bottom to a block of wood and I stained them. I just added Christmas decorations to them! I will add ribbon to them too!

I think this one is my favorite! I plan on making a few more!
It's hard to believe the summer is over although the weather is nice here! I am playing golf today with friends! Hope your day is full of fun too! Talk soon!!!

Here are a few Halloween projects that I worked on for our upcoming craft show in Kennebunk!! The Santa and Frankenstein are candy bar wrappers! I purchased the digital file from Laurie Furnell on Etsy! Her artwork is fabulous!!!

The Bat and Count Dracula are also candy bar wrappers! They are both SVG files that I purchased from My Scrap Chick! That is alao a wonderful site to browse for great products! So creative!!

Don't you love this little turkey! I have put a tealight in the back that makes this guy just glow! This was a free svg file from Dreaming Tree! My favorite site for awesome files!! You can use this as a card or as a placeholder!! It will look great on my Thanksgiving table!!
Hope everyone is safe! It is hard to see all the heartbreak and damage from hurricane Ida!
My prayers are with those who have been affected! I have been busy papercrafting but also working on home decor items!  I will share photos of those in my next post! Stay safe!!!

August Birthdays

August is the month for birthdays in my family! This card is for my hubby! He is big on golfing but it seems I give him a golfing card every year! He is also a great cook so when I saw this on Lori Whitlock's svg site- I thought this is the perfect card for Tom!

The sentiment says it all!! He also loves lobster so that was his birthday supper!!

I thought this strawberry box card was adorable! I used this card for my sister, Rochelle's birthday!! I bought the svg from Mary at SVG Cuts.  I love that I can make it any size I want!!

It even has room for a birthday sentiment!!

I made these 2 cards with my Cricut.  They are Slimline cards that have 3 flaps that open.

You can put a funny sentiment in them- like I did and then have a
More serious one on the inside! I think these are fun cards to make!

I can't believe August is going so fast! I hope everyone is well and enjoying their summer! It will be over before you know it! Gotta run - playing golf this morning! Have to take advantage of the nice weather we are having!! Take care!!

Summer Fun

I have been having fun working in my craft room lately! I made a Hershey bar wrap from an SVG file from My Scrap Chick. It is actually the Dracula candy wrap but I used yellow paper and cut off Dracula's ears. I love how it came out!
This card is also from My Scrap Chick's site. What a cute card to make! There is a video on how to put it together too! It's a Freebie too!
These next cards are from Sam at Mixed Up Craft! She has fabulous card designs and great tutorials that help you put them together! I don't have the dies she used since they were all sold out but I used my Cricut to make the stars and the hearts- Here are a few more pictures of those cards-
I haven't decorated all of them as yet. They are such fun to make!!
Lastly,I haven't stopped working on Home Decor projects! This picture is of a tray I am working on. I used IOD transfers to add some interest. I am going to add the handles to it as well! Hope your summer is going well! It is nice to see things opening up again! Take card and talk soon!!

Summer Update

I am sorry to have been so long in updating my blog!  We have been home for a couple of months from Florida but I have been very busy!  I have been gardening and playing golf and crafting!!  The bird house above was built by my hubby for our house in Topsham.  We had it hanging from a tree for the summer.  He actually made 3 of them.  One had a bird family in it for a while.   I decided to upcycle this bird house for an indoor planter.   I added the base it is sitting on to give it some height.  Since I seem to kill any indoor plants - I used artificial plants for my planter.  The artificial ones look so real!!
I used Iron Orchid Designs molds and stamp to decorate my bird house.  I just love the way it came out!!

Iron Orchid Designs (IOD) makes beautiful molds you can use on most anything.  The above Bird is one of there designs.  The detail is just fabulous.  I used air drying clay in the mold.

The also make transfers!   The riser above was made from one of their transfers called WildFlower Botanicals.  They are so easy to use!  They provide the tool to just rub them on.  I then sealed it so it would not come off!  Really alot of fun to add to anything- even furniture!

I am getting used to a much smaller craft room but I felt I didn't have enough drawers to all my stash.  I had purchased a couple of these units from Michaels in Florida and I really liked them.  So I decided to get some for my craft room here in Maine.   Hubby helped and put them together.  Love, love how they look and how much room they give me!!

Here is a picture of the most recent IOD Mold I purchased. I haven't even used it yet but I can't wait!!  If you are not familiar with this company - you can go to Youtube or Pinterest and see lots of videos on how to use their fabulous products.   Now, I didn't post any of the cards I made this month but I am still doing card making for sure!  Next month I will share some of my cards along with more upcycled items!!   Hope everyone is happy and healthy!

Trash to Treasure

I finally finished by 2nd Easter card and thought I would show it today.  I sent this one to our
13 year old Grandson and I thought he would appreciate a little Easter humor.

Karen Burniston does a fabulous job in her tutorial to show you how to make this type of Slimline card-
check it out here-

I have spent most of my type working on making items from TRASH to TREASURES!  I thought I would share a few pictures of my projects.

This is my haul from a shopping trip to Goodwill!

I painted this beer carrier white - distressed it a little and then used my Iron Orchid Designs Crockery stamp on both sides!  I love how it came out!

I put a little burlap in the bottom and will use it for the 2 bottles below that I painted white and decoupaged the labels that you see below!  Don't you love that bee!!!

Here is a frame that was gold and I have painted it white for a French Country or farmhouse look.

I sanded down the detail on the frame and used a wet wipe to bring out more detail.  I
haven't decided what I will put in the frame but will be sure to post a picture once I have finished it.

This is one of my favorite projects!  I took a silver plated tray and painted it with white Chalk paint.  Then I decoupaged it with a print I found on line.

Lastly, I worked on this cute metal plant holder.  I painted it white and used a little bit of color to highlight the cut outs.  I have loved working on these "treasures"!
We are preparing to move back to Maine in the next couple of weeks.  I have had a really fun time here in Florida!  Even though I was sick with Co-Vid and ended up with pneumonia too!  I am grateful that I am fully recovered and that both hubby and I have gotten our shots!!   I pray that all of you are healthy and safe too!!
