Ok, I am obsessed! I am loving the Cascading card that is the new Technique Lover's challenge over on Splitcoast Stampers! Holly brought us Sonia's great new technique! I love it! I am still working on my Valentine's Day cards. I think my Grandson might like this one! I used Stampin Up's owl punch and a Spellbinder's die to make some of the branches. I don't remember the name of that particular die. This picture shows a tealight in the bottom of the card. I cut away some of the card stock to make it look like limbs of a tree. A little bit of work but I like the way it came out. The directions to make the base are on my previous posts for Valentine Day cards. Take a look at more pictures -

DeleteOk! Let me try this again!
DeleteYou will need 12 x 12 card stock. Measure up one end of the card 5 1/2 inches and make a mark. Measure the other end 2 1/2 inches. Draw a light line across the card to connect them. You will then need to cut on that line. Then take that piece and lay it on the remaining card stock and use it as a template to cut another piece out. You now have 2 the same size! At least, that is how I do it.
Now, you will want to create a pencil mark that goes horizontally across the cardstock. Measure 2 3/4 inches on the 5 1/2 side of the cardstock make a pencil mark. Then measure 1 1/4 inch on the other side and draw a light pencil line to connect. This divides the cardstock in two You will make the following cuts to this line.
Take one piece and score at 2" , 4", 8" and 10 ". I take my ruler and draw a line from top to bottom at the 6" mark.
Now- ONE piece of the card stock- you will cut DOWN to the horizontal pencil line at the 2" score line and the 10" score line. Then on the same piece - cut UP at the 6" pencil mark. The SECOND piece of card stock - you will do the opposite. Cut UP at the 2" score line andthe 10" score line and DOWN at the 6 " pencil mark. Again, just to the pencil mark you made horizontally.
Then just put them tobether! I like to make sure I bend the score lines a little to make it a little easier to put together... Once you have done it once....it is really easy!!
Have fun!
