Atlanta Braves Spring Training Arena

We had a fantastic day on Saturday at the Grand Opening of the Atlanta Braves Spring Training Camp facility in Northport!  They opened the arena for the day with no charge so that people to tour the grounds.  What a fun time we had!

You can see below they had Veterans from the area bring pieces of the American Flag and put it together right on the field.  It was fun to  watch it coming together.  What a job!

You can walk 360 degrees all around the park.  There are a ton of places to eat too!  The food was reasonably priced and delicious!

The view of the grounds was fabulous too!

I don't think there is a bad seat in the place.

I love looking out over the  field.  We will be going back next year when they have some games!

Here are a few pictures of a card  I have been working on...

It's sort of a shadow box card.  The butterfly is from Stampin Up.

It still folds to go into an envelope.

Our time in Florida is coming to an end.  Can't wait to get back to my Craft Room!  I will miss all the warm weather here for sure!   Talk soon!

Game of Thrones Birthday Card

I recently purchased My Favorite Things Castle Die!  I love making birthday cards that look like a castle - now with these dies it will be so much easier.  This card was inspired by the TV show Game of Thrones.  See all the dragons- I think they are more like pets.....

The Dragons are from My Favorite Things too!  I used some bling on the castle too!  What's a castle without bling?

The sun is from Mosaic Moments.

I know I am sending it to my niece's daughter who is turning 7 in March.  Hope she like this card!  It was certainly fun to make.!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I wanted to show you several of the projects I have been working on since my last post.  The cards above are going to our Grandsons for Valentine's Day.  I don't have a printer here in Florida so we hand wrote the saying on the inside.  The panda bear is from Marianne Designs.  I love this cute bear!

This card is just one I wanted to try since it's a new technique for me.  My sister, Connie, was here for a visit and she showed me how to make it.   Love that you can add your sentiment to the back or to either side.  I am not sure how I am going to decorate it but wanted to show you this adorable card.  It's call a Double Slider Card.  The tutorial is from Mixed up Crafts and so easy to follow-

This card will stand up too since it is made as a tent card.  You will love it!

The card below was for a friend who had a birthday recently.  She is in her 90's!  I thought she would like to see some flowers since it is going to be a long winter!  It is fashioned like a card in a box.  I added the leaves from Heartfelt Creation's Classic Leaf die.   A few bees are buzzing around too.

I put the sentiment on the back of the box.

The last project I am working on is a Concertina Card from Mixed Up Crafts.  It is a British blog and I think her name is Sam.  I just love her blog.  Lot's of great tutorials that are fun to make.  You can check her out here-

Here are a couple of pictures of my Concertina Card.  I haven't decided how to decorate it yet but wanted you to see it.  It does close for mailing too!

The weather was a little chilly to start but now it is just beautiful in the 80's.  Hope it stays that way!!

I bought this sign at a Craft Fair!  My husband and I love to play golf here and I thought it would be nice to have on our wall!  Nice reminder!

We have been to Disney several times since we have been here.  So you know it hasn't been all work and no play.  Here are a few pictures from our stay.  Hope you all have a fabulous Valentine Day!

Brother in law birthday!

My first post of 2019!   Tom and I are visiting in Florida so I have set up a small craft area to be able to continue to create cards while we are here.  This card is for my brother in law- I am pretty sure he does not check out my blog so I think I am safe posting these pictures.  Mark's birthday isn't until the 20th this month!

I am in love with 49 and Market's Island Paradise paper collection!  It really has a Florida vibe.  The paper is very sturdy and has just beautiful designs.  I even love the punch outs that are included in the collection.  The turtles are adorable.  For some reason, coming to Florida has made us fall in love with turtles.  You can see I used a lot of the punch outs on Mark's card.

Here's a close up of the card.  The lighthouse is from their Sand and Sea collection.  I did cut it down a bit to make it fit.   The star fish was just in my stash and I like how it looked!

Below is the back of the card!  The sentiment is from Stampin Up.

Of course, because it's a card in a box it does collapse for mailing.  I love the wood look of this card.  Hope Mark likes it too!

We do play a lot of golf while we are here.  I had to show one of Tom's golf shots!  Looks like a tough one to me!  Have a faboo day!

Merry Christmas!

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!  I thought I would share a few pictures from our Christmas Day.  These are the cookies we made and decorated for our Christmas Party!  I am practicing so I can get better at this!!

My sisters and I got together and made the lantern below to give as favors on Christmas.  Each one is a little different.

My sister, Rochelle, made the train below for a center piece!  I think it is so adorable. I want to make one too!  She says it isn't hard to make at all.  You can find the tutorial below from Mixed Up Crafts.  I love her blog!

Our Grandson, Ezra, got a big surprise on Christmas morning!  His family now has a fabulous ATV.  He can't wait to get home to drive it!!

Here's Ezra's dad with his Christmas sweater.  The stockings are removable.  I love this sweater!!

This was the best Yankee swap today! My brother in law ended up with it and he promptly put it on his toilet.  I love this too!

I wanted to show my favorite gift this year.  This is Tim Holtz's storage cart.  I put it together myself.  I can't wait to use it!  I am sure I will feel more organized with this fabulous gift.

I had a fabulous Christmas with the family.  These are just a few pictures of some of the fun!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas too.  I also hope the new year is full of fun and excitement- Happy New Year!!

Christmas 2018

Can you believe Christmas is just around the corner?  We put up most of our Christmas decorations after Thanksgiving!  The Manger above is my most favorite!  This year, for my birthday, I got the 3Wise men.  I love this Willow Tree nativity scene.

I thought I would show you my Christmas card for this year!  The deer are from Stampin Up's Dashing deer set.  What I love most about this card is the shading used for the back ground.  I used the brushes below - which are new to me!  I found them on Amazon and they are fabulous.  I think they are easier to use than the Tim Holtz's brushes.   Now, they are advertised as makeup brushes but they are great for shading craft inks- you can't use Stazon or any ink like that but your Tim Holtz inks and Stampin Up inks work fine.  I watched a video about them-

I have posted pictures of the large Lanterns I made for Christmas.  But I have been working on making smaller lanterns for putting candy inside.  I made 2 mid sized lanterns and one mini lantern.   Sam, from Mixed Up crafts did a great tutorial for the mini lantern!  You can check that out here-

You can see the size difference below-

I think this one below is my favorite!

I will end my post with a picture of our living room with the Christmas decorations up!  It's going to be a busy month- so if I don't get a chance to do another post- I want to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year !!
