Halloween Goodies!

For some reason, I really love Halloween!  This year I don't expect to have more than 6 or 7 Trick or Treaters but we still decorate our front porch with our Witch and Skeleton!  There are a few bats flying around too!    I made a few goodies for my former co- workers !  I love any excuse to try some new treat holders.   Stampin Up sells the cute test tubes!  Check out the link below for the instructions-

I have used the sentiment below before but it's my favorite!  Very spooky!

I made the Hershey Nuggets holders too!  I love the Halloween paper !  I have used most of it up.  Next year, it will be time to get some new paper!  I can't wait!    Splitcoast Stampers had the tutorial to make these cuties!

Last but not least, I made the pillow box Pumpkin baskets for our Grandkids!  I have made them before but they are sooo easy to make and cute too.  They hold a lot of candy! Splitcoast has the tutorial as well-

We are ready for our Trick or Treaters!  This year I did individual bags!  I used clothespins to close the bags with Papertrey Ink's cute Halloween figures to cover the clothespins.  I was going to make my bags but couldn't resist buying them from Michael's for $1.99!!  I hope everyone has a fabulous Halloween!

Fall Projects

I am posting a few of my Fall Projects just to show you I haven't been goofing off ( much)!  The photo above is after I painted a really old step ladder black.  The very top step is busted but I still love this ladder!  When my sister's and I  went to the Vintage Bazaar this month in Eliot, Maine- I saw some fabulous stuff!   A ladder with words stenciled on the steps was just one!  Now, mine isn't as grand but I love how it turned out!  I am thinking I will use it on my covered porch in the Spring!

I also saw some attractive candle holders out of birch at the Bazaar.  Well, I think it was painted on birch with the top section painted white.  The picture below shows mine!  We had several birch trees that blew down last year in our woods.  My hubby cut them to my specs and used his drill to tunnel out the top for tea lights.  I am still working on coated them with poly but will show them once completed.

I am loving the way they are coming out so far!

The pictures below show the beautiful Heartfelt Creations 3 D fuchsia flowers!  I just purchased the stamp and die set from Heartfelt Creations and they were on sale!!  They are so easy to make! I am looking forward to using them in many projects!

I have to show you the plastic Christmas ball I used to put some of these flowers in!  I did put some glitter on several of the blooms to add interest.  I didn't have florist wire so I just ended up using glue to keep them together.  I think I will invest in some wire for the next ones.  It's hard to see because of the glare but they are really pretty!

I did purchase a couple of plastic Christmas balls that were open from Michael's.  I wasn't sure what I would use them for but loved that you can put anything you want in them!  I used a slice of birch for the base and then added the Evergreen Sprig that Stampin Up is selling in their Christmas catalog.  A tea light and some acorns were also added and then finished off with a ribbon.  I picked the acorns last year and just this year spray painted them with some poly.

I am just about finished with my Halloween projects and will post them soon!  I am now looking forward to working on Christmas ideas.  I must say- my first summer off since I retired has been a fun one!  I can't believe how fast it went.  Hard to believe the stores are already filled with Christmas stuff!  This morning I took a walk and it felt like 70 degrees out!  It has been a crazy Fall for sure!

Halloween Mini Cup Holders

I just love these adorable Mini Coffee Cups!  I am going out to dinner tonight with some friends and thought this would make a cute little gift!  They are so easy to make too!  I found the instructions on Pinterest.  You can look at Dawn's tutorial on the link below.  She does a great job explaining how to make them.

https://dawnsstampingthoughts.net/2017/08/double-mini-coffee-cup-holder-video.html

The little cups hold a surprising amount of candy!  The M & M's are the larger cookies and cream version for Halloween.  I love decorating these adorable cups!  I found them on Amazon but I know there are several places you can purchase them on line.

I have several bat dies and loved using them on the end of the gold straws I have had in my stash.  The google eyes make them just that much creepier.  I found the little round orange glitter balls at Michael's.

Here is another version below of a holder for these cute cups.  The carrier handle is in the center.   They can be used for anything! I haven't decorated this one as yet but it is ready when the need comes!   Here is the link to the instructions on Inking Idaho's blog.

I love these so much I may make them for the Holiday season too!  Have a great day!

Vintage Bazaar

What a fun weekend!  On Saturday, my sisters and I went to the Vintage Bazaar in Eliot, Maine.  They hold it in June and October.  I think this was bigger than the one in June.  They had such great stuff for sale!!  We were greeted by these fabulous dinosaurs as we walked in.  The little one opened and closed his mouth and made a noise.  Just loved them both!

I did buy a few things but I got some wonderful ideas too.  We have had several blown down Birch trees in our back yard.  The candle holders below are so pretty!  I will get my hubby to cut them up!  Can't wait to try it!

I loved the idea below too!  They took a fake pumpkin and carved out a hole and put in a spooky garden.  Cute idea!

I am so going to do this to my rickety paint ladder.  I love black with the stained steps!  The stenciled words are fabulous!

The window below was so beautiful when the sun shown on it.  They took the clear stones you can buy at Michael's and adhered them to the window panes.  Small clear dished were added too! I think it must have been some type of clear resin.   Loved it!

In another tent, they used sea shells and sea creatures on the glass.  They looked like they were floating.  I want to try this!

I couldn't resist taking a picture of this great clock!  I haven't a wall to put it on but if I did-
I would have brought this baby home!  Love the vintage look!!

What I wouldn't give to have a vintage truck!  They had several at the Bazaar but I think they were just for show.  So cool!

We walked over the whole field and saw everything!  They had plenty of food trucks and even had bands playing.  The weather was just right for shopping outside.  I loved the display below!  Doesn't he look comfortable!  He knows Halloween will be here soon.  I am finishing up some Halloween projects that I will share soon.  We had such fun at the Bazaar and are already planning on going again next June!

UP UP and Away!

Our Grandson, Everett, has a birthday this month!  I know he loves airplanes and Lightning McQueen.  I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest.  That card was made from a Savings Cut file.  You can see it on the link below-

Now, I don't have a machine that will cut that file.  So I decided to try and recreate it using my dies.

It was fun using different dies to make this airplane!  The wings were formed from a Memory Box die of an arched window.  I just outlined the die and cut it out by hand.  The balloons are from Stampin Up.   The card is a rectangle Card in a Box.  In the picture below you can see that it does fold flat for mailing.  You do have to lift the engine section to mail it.

I even made the controls- can you see it below?

I am hoping Everett likes this little airplane!

I had a picture of Everett from our apple picking day -where he had his arms up in the air.   My hubby thought it would be perfect for this card.  I think he was right!  He is piloting his birthday airplane!  Happy October everyone!
