Open Box Pop Up Card

I found this wonderful tutorial on Pinterest for this cute Box Pop Up Card!  It's Maymay's tutorial and she does a wonderful job with her instructions.  You can find them at this link-

I used the paper collection from  Photoplay's French Flea Market by Julie Nutting!  I just love the colors in this collection!

You can see I haven't finished adding the sentiment since I am not sure if I will use this as a birthday card or just a Hello card.  Since we are in Florida, I did not bring all my stuff and I may wait until we are home to finish the card.  The sentiment will be added to the back of the card- there is plenty of room.   I hate to cover any of this gorgeous paper!

I did add card stock to the back of my stickers to make them a little stronger.  They are so cute!

For the card above, I followed Maymay's dimensions.  For the card below, I used a 12 x 12 piece of cardstock.  I wanted to see what the card would look like if I wanted a larger card.

For this card - I used 49 Market's Sand and Sea Paper collection!  It's the first time I have used anything from this company and I have to say it is fabulous paper!

I used their 3D stickers from this collection too!  This card has more room to add a sentiment on the inside of the card.

This is one of the sheets from the 8 x 8 collection that I cut down to fit the cover.  I just love this paper line!!  So you can see I am doing some card making while I am in Florida!  The weather is finally warming up so it will be hard to stay indoors!   I will keep you posted!

Florida Fun Update

We have been having so much fun here in Florida...I hardly know where to begin!  I have to show you the craft store we found in Englewood!!  This store is full of all the stuff I love, Graphic 45, Lawn Fawn and more!

They are having a clearance sale next week!  My sister and her husband are coming next week and we shall be going back to visit this store!

We just happen to find the Annual Sullivan Street Festival in Punta Gorda!  This event was full of Arts and Crafts and food!  Many streets were closed and lined with tents with all the vendors faire!

They had not one but 2 farmers markets with lots of fruit and vegetables!  Everything was so fresh and yummy!

One seller used old vintage jewelry to make beautiful art!  She said she was inspired
to use some of her Mom's old jewelry so she would have a memory of her beautiful pieces. I
love how she used beads and jewels to make this adorable mermaid!

More tents below with more sellers!  We were at this festival for almost 2 hours!  There
was so much to see!

Here is another picture of the tent that used vintage jewelry to create new pieces of jewelry and art.  I love this gal!

I had to include this picture of my husband talking to the birds...at least that is what it look like he is doing.  These carved birds were selling like hot cakes!

These last pictures are of a couple of signs that I loved!  I think I may make some cards using these sentiments that are very true!!  More updates to come... Have a faboo day!!

Florida 2018

We drove to North Port, Florida right after Christmas to avoid the storm!  We didn't have any trouble all the way down.  This last week we have been exploring the area.  I just love it!  The picture above is from the mall in our area.

We went out to dinner at a restaurant in Englewood called Farlow's  that had great seafood!  They brought around a cart to show you what the fish looked like before you ordered it!  How cool!

We wanted to check out the beaches in this area too!  This beach is in Venice near Sharkey's restaurant.  It was beautiful but it was too cold that day to venture out.  The weather here has been cold but it is warming up.  I am not complaining because our kids are telling us how cold it is in Maine.

Of course, we had to do some junkin down here!  We found this fabulous junk store called, FUNKY JUNKIES!  It is one of my favorite stores that we visited in Punta Gorda!!  I will be going there again!

The picture below is another fun Vintage store called Last Chance!  This store was another wonderful find!!

They have a ton of venders that have a lot of fun stuff!  I love what they use to display their items- see the vintage ladder!! I want to go here again too!  This Saturday they are having a festival with more venders and music with food trucks right outside their store.  We will be going to check it out!

So I haven't been doing any crafting but will be working on some projects this week!   We walked the sidewalks in Venice and had an ice cream!  It was lovely!  In one of the storefront windows I saw this adorable cloche!!  This is similar to what my sister's and I love to make!  Love the pink colors!
Today we are headed to Englewood to check out a craft store!! Yipee! I will follow up on another post.   Thanks again to the kids for staying at the house while we are gone!!
