Cupcake Throne Birthday

Just a quick post to show you that I have been working in my craft room.  The weather has been so nice it's hard to stay inside!!  I made this Cupcake Throne for a former co-worker's birthday.  I have made these before but I love how cute they are and how easy they are to make!

The back gives you plenty of space to add your sentiment.  There are several tutorials on Pinterest- here is one that you could use to make your box.

The picture above shows the throne with a cupcake in it!  Very regal!  I used Stampin Up's Birthday Blasts die to make the back.  I love those balloons!  I am working feverishly in my Craft room since August seems to be full of family birthday's!  I will post some more photos soon!   Enjoy August - this month is flying by- It will be September before you know it!!

Birthday Penguin

Yum!

Whew! I can't add pictures to my post the usual way since Blogger seems to be having problems with that function. I was able to use Picasa to add these pictures!  Hooray!  I used the Penquin from my Christmas cards for this Birthday Penquin throne on a previous post.  I think this little guy is so adorable. He may Pop up on other projects this year!!  Here is Dina's fabulous template for this little guy!

I also have posted a link to the instructions for the Birthday throne on a previous post. I will post it again for you- Here is a link to Jan's blog for her instructions on how to make a Cupcake Throne-

Cupcake Throne

I love Jan's Cupcake Throne!  I stumbled across her instructions on her blog- which was on Pinterest.  Here is the link-

I made one of these for someone special - and of course, put a cupcake in it.  It was sooo cute!  I had several requests to make more!  This time I used Shimmer Sheets for the background on all of them but the blue one.  The blue one is Ranger's sandable paper - I embossed it, then sanded it.  It is really cool paper!    Shimmer sheets are plastic and shiny and can be embossed too!  I sanded two of them. On the pink Happy Birthday one - I used Staz On ink.  I just rubbed it lightly across the top.  I love both of these techniques.  Here are a few more pics-You can click on them to make them larger.

This picture shows how shimmery- Shimmer Sheets are!  They are fabulous!  I only have 2 colors but I will have to get more!!!   I have not finished decorating them all since I want to save a couple for future use.  I think they are adorable!  Thanks, Jan!
