Window box Birthday Card!

I have been searching for an idea for a card for my Mom's 82nd birthday that is coming next week.  I saw Carol's Pop Up Window Box card on  her blog located here:
She has the link to the instructions on her blog.  Qbee's instructions are really easy to follow.  I changed the flowers on my card and added a little friend in the window box.  I think my Mom will get a kick out of it! I used a Sizzix embossing folder to make the flowers.  The butterflies are from a Martha Stewart punch.  The front of the card was made with a Spellbinder's Label die but I can't remember which number die.  I love the gems they make now that go with the Spellbinder's dies.  I don't know if you can see it in the pictures, but they really sparkle.  They are so easy to apply if you use tweezers to remove them and add them to your card.  I really hope Mom likes the card.  We lost Dad just a few months ago but Mom is really doing well.  She smiles more now than she did and she seems like herself again.  We are so blessed to have her with us!

  2. I'm sure she'll love it! Like I do! Thanks for the site for instructions - I have 5 female birthdays and 3 anniversaries coming up in the next 3 weeks and this appeals to me (of course I haven't seen the instructions yet, lol). The die used on the front is their Labels Two. Inserting the cat is wonderful. So glad your mother is adjusting; you were in my prayers during that time.

  7. Cute card. I saw it on SplitCoast. I'm a cat lover so I came here hoping the instructions on how you made the cat would be around somewhere. I don't suppose you would post those, would you?
    Thank you.

  8. Hi Connie-
I can tell you how to make my little kitty! I used a circle punch for the head-SU's small star punch for the ears. The body is from Spellbinders paisley dies. A Copic marker was used to make the stripes. I have a really small punch that I used to make the cheeks and then just drew on the whiskers. It is really easy.
Hope that helps! Thanks for asking!
    Chris
