Co-Worker Birthday!

We celebrated a co-worker's birthday this week! I decided to make her cake instead of buying one.  Well, the cake did come out moist and yummy but I am no decorator!  The You Tube videos make it look so easy! I am not going to give up!  I am going to practice any time I can.  This may hurt my New Year's resolution to lost weight but I feel I must perfect my decorating skills!  Look for more pictures of my practice sessions!

I wanted to share the card I made for the birthday celebration!  I took a class with my sisters at Stamped Designs in Dover, NH. Jeanette's Mom taught the class.  I loved using our Copic Markers to color the fine glitter.  The background circle is made using the Spellbinder's die that I believe is called the Fleur de lis.  I have a 3 day weekend this weekend so I am hopeful to spend some time in my studio.  Hope your weekend is fun!

  1. Gorgeous! Wow, you can color glitter with Copics?! Love this card.

  2. Wowser..I think the cake is gorgeous.. I am going to check out those utube videos on cake decorating.. When is the next holiday???
Your card is beautiful.. I hope I remember how to do what Jeannette's Mom taught us.. so much to do; so little time.. and I'm retired....

  3. I'm sure your cake was a big hit, and it takes practice to perfect anything. Looks like you've had plenty of practice making cards - this one is beautiful
