Fun & Games Tag

I love playing with the Prima Doll stamps! I haven't posted anything on my blog lately  so I thought I would show you what I have been working on.   I found vintage Bingo cards the last time I went "Junkin" along with an old Monopoly Game.  I used one of the cards from that game for this tag.   I have a jar full of old Scrabble letters that I use once in a while and they seem to fit on this tag.  You can't tell from this picture but I raised the skirt on this doll and her hair too.  Below is a picture of the back of the tag.  I am going to add a sentiment in the pocket.

A co-worker had a birthday recently- I was happy to make a card for her!  My sister owns the cutest stamp that I had asked to borrow.  I believe it is from Art Impressions.
I love it!  I had seen a similar card on Pinterest and thought I would give it a try.

I used my new Sizzix Pop n Cut die to make this card.  I know you can make your own Pop up card but
with this die it does make it alot easier!  The clouds are from Memory Box.  This card reminds me of how I feel when I go off with my sisters for an adventure~  Pure fun!  Have a wonderful Monday!

Welcome Baby Safari Card

A co-worker asked me to make a Baby Shower card.  The shower will have a Safari theme!  I have been wanting to do some Punch art so I used this opportunity to create this card.  It is the 3D card technique that I used to make the Circus train in May- you can find the link to the instructions under Blog Archive on the right of this post.

The palm trees are from Memory Box.  The monkey is a Sizzix die - that I love!  The other animals are from Punch art.  I think it turned out cute!  I really had fun coming up with the design.

Our Grandson, Ezra, came for a visit this past weekend!  It was a quick visit but I always love it when we see him.  He is really a great kid!  He can figure out any game on my tablet!  I really have fun watching him- when he gets tired- he makes me play!  I am becoming a GAMER!!!  Not really, but I can pretend!

Hello Friend Bendi Card

I had to make another Bendi Card!  This one is the same wideth but I made it taller.  I needed height for my Castle!  Boy, it is really hard to get a good picture since the Castle is quite round like a tower!  My dragon is Punch Art.  I have no particular need for this card- I am going to save it for when I do!   Maybe a little girl's birthday card or a "Hello Friend" card.

The tower required two tabs instead of one.  But it was really easy to do!  I used a Magnolia stamp for my Princess!  You can find the tutorial for the Bendi card on Splitcoast Stampers.  The link is on my post just before this post.

I have to work tomorrow but I am just as happy since it is soooo hot here!  I love the air conditioning at my office.  I will say my Studio in the cellar is very cool too!  Hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Bendi Fold Card

Bibiana over at Splitcoast Stampers has a great tutorial on how to make the Bendi Fold Card!   Her card is beautiful!  I thought I would give it a try.  I used a couple of Memory Box dies for the deer at the front and the tree at the back.  The fence is from Sizzix.  I really love the 3D effect it gives the card.  I have decided to make cards up ahead of the time I need them- instead of running around trying to come up with an idea for a card- that I would need right away!  So this card is for a Birthday but I will add the sentiment later.    Here is the link to Bibiana's card and tutorial-

Here are a few more pictures of my card-

This picture shows one side of the card open.  The tabs keeps the card closed.

You can see with both sides open- There is plenty of room to add a sentiment and more!  You could even use the back of the card!

These cards will fold easily and slide right into an envelope!  I am thinking I might try another Bendi Fold Card.   I love the name of this style of card, too!!  It' is easy to remember!

3D Cards

I have fallen in love with Kathrin's 3D cards!  I found her card on Pinterest and had to go to her website to check it out.   She has a great tutorial and pictures of more of her cards.  They are fabulous!   The dimensions are in centimeters but she has a conversion chart right on her site!     I love to do punch art but decided to use my Inky Antics stamps for this card.  I found the Monkey on the internet and enlarged it a little to fit right in with the other circus animals. I did make the base of this card a little wider just because I wanted to make sure it would stand on it's own.  Mine is about 1 1/2 inches wide.    Here is a link to Kathrin's website with instructions:

Here are a few more pictures of my Circus Train card.  I havne't finished with this card- there is tons of more space on the back for my sentiment.  I don't know if I will use is for a Birthday card or a New Baby card- so I may wait to finish it up.

Here is the inspiration for my Circus card!   My animals don't look so scary!!

Here is another version of Kathrin's 3D card.  Again, I haven't finished this one either!! There is so much room for more embellishments!  I used Sizzix mini Daisy dies by Susan Tierney Cockburn.  I love her flowers!

Side View!

These cards are fun to make!  Can't wait to try and make a few more with this style of card!  Have a faboo day!!

Prima Doll Stamp

Today we celebrated my sister, Andrea's upcoming 50th birthday! Her birthday isn't until August but we love surprising our siblings early - so it is really a surprise!  I forgot to take my camera today or I would show you the expression on her face when she walked thru the door and heard, " SURPRISE".  It was priceless!!!  We also celebrated my Mom' s birthday since it is her birthday on May 20th.   All in all, it was a fun party!   It is always nice to get together with family!

I used Prima's doll stamp designed by Julie Nutting.  I own 2 of these adorable stamps.  It is fun decorating their clothing and adding some bling.  The sentiments I used on Andrea's card are fun!  Check them out in the picture below.  You can click on the pictures to make them larger.

I love the color of this card too!  Very festive!

Here is a picture below of the card I made for my Mom.  I used Graphic 45 paper.  The dress form is from Tim Holtz.  Both Andrea and Mom's cards are Tri-Fold shutter cards.  You have tons of room to decorate!   Back to work tomorrow!  Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Die Cut Storage Board

I have been looking for a better way to store my die cuts.  I bought several magnetic book type storage products but I don't like not being able to see my die cuts.  I forget I have them!   I happen to see that IKEA sold a magnetic board!  Fabulous- I ordered it!  When it came it only attract magnets- it didn't attract metal objects like die cuts.  RATS!!!  Then.... I noticed that Joann's sold sheets of thin magnetic canvas by Darice.  They sell for about $4.00 a sheet.  I used my Scor tape and covered the whole front of the IKEA board.  I used 4 sheets cutting one up to fit the board.  I ran out at the top left hand side of the board.  I will get one more to complete it.  Now, I can see the die cuts that I store on this board!!!  I love it!!! Here are a few more pictures-

I use a peg board to store the most commonly used dies cuts. But the magnetic board is not too far away from my work area.

I have this board almost filled.  Yikes!  I think I will probably make another one when I can't squeeze anymore dies on the board!
