Happy Birthday Sister!

Yesterday was my youngest sister, Adrianne's birthday!  I love my new Sizzix Pop N Cut die so I had to use it for her card.  The sitting Tilda fit perfectly into the card and she kinda reminds me of Adrianne when she was little. I used Memory Box dies to create the window scene behind Tilda.  

 

 Here is a picture of the front of the card.  It is a reverse of a standard card since I put the sentiment on the front of the card not inside.  I have used this sentiment before because I love it so much!  It really is true-words to live by!

Bendi Fold Card

Bibiana over at Splitcoast Stampers has a great tutorial on how to make the Bendi Fold Card!   Her card is beautiful!  I thought I would give it a try.  I used a couple of Memory Box dies for the deer at the front and the tree at the back.  The fence is from Sizzix.  I really love the 3D effect it gives the card.  I have decided to make cards up ahead of the time I need them- instead of running around trying to come up with an idea for a card- that I would need right away!  So this card is for a Birthday but I will add the sentiment later.    Here is the link to Bibiana's card and tutorial-

This picture shows one side of the card open.  The tabs keeps the card closed.  

You can see with both sides open- There is plenty of room to add a sentiment and more!  You could even use the back of the card!

These cards will fold easily and slide right into an envelope!  I am thinking I might try another Bendi Fold Card.   I love the name of this style of card, too!!  It' is easy to remember! 

5 Christmas Tags!

 

Tags are such fun to make since they are usually quick and easy!  I am making one style of Christmas card but I can make a bunch of Christmas tags-all different!

 

 

 

 

I  used Memory Box's window die to make this tag.  SU's Lovely as a Tree was used for the view from the window. 

 

 

 

I used Tim Holtz's Distress stain to color this tag.  I then embossed the tag and added Spellbinder's Poinsetta's die.  The flame is SU's bird punch

 

 

 

Tim Holtz's Birdcage die was used for this tag.  I sprayed Tattered Angels Pearl to give it a metal look.  SU's bird punch is one of my favorite!

 

 

 

I love the Memory Box deer die!

 

 

 

I used Graphic 45's paper to cut out the Sugar Plum dancers.  Back to work on my Christmas cards!  I am going to start my Christmas cards in July this coming year!!!

 

Thank you tag!

I made this Butterfly tag for a co-worker who was kind enough to help me out when I was in a pinch!  She didn't have to be so nice about it but she was!  It made my day brighter for sure!! 
I used a manilla tag and stained it with some Tim Holtz's stains.  I then used his Distress Ink to the edges- This one has the Vintage Photo Ink to make it look aged.  It is one of my favorite colors.  I did stamp it with one of my written word stamps in the Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  The larger butterfly is from Memory Box dies as well as the flowing leaf vine.  The smaller butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch! I did add some bling to the tag- just to brighten it a bit.   Making tags is new to me, I never knew what to use them for?   Now, I like them as much as a card!  It doesn't take long to make them and it is a challenge to see what will fit on them!  I think of them as small works of art!  Below is a picture of the back of the tag.  I added a ribbon and an embellishment to finish it off! 

Pink Valentine's Day card!

Another Cascading card!

Well, I am still making Valentine's Day Cards... yes, another Cascading card!   Now, my new favorite technique!  I added a pink Rosette at the back, just cus I like them so much!  The flower stamp is from Stampin UP - the new Mixed Punch set of stamps and I used the Blossom punch to cut out.  For the front of the card - I used one of the Memory Box dies.  I think the are fabulous!  Some of the very small flowers are on an acrylic strip so they appear to be floating- not sure you can see that.
